Custom Design
Owning a one-of-a-kind jewellery piece starts with a conversation. Together, we will discuss your preferred materials, how the piece will be worn, gemstones, and design aesthetics, to carefully tailor your jewellery. Taking into consideration any special significance, inspiration, personal preferences, budget, and lifestyle. Ensuring the perfect fit in every way.
We can include personal jewellery styling recommendations. Looking at which metals, gemstones, and jewellery styles will look the best. Based on face and hand shape, build, individual colouring, personality, taste, and style.

Astrid will personally design and sketch your one-of-a-kind jewellery piece. This includes hand painted illustrations and to scale specification drawings. Once we have chosen the design and materials, you will receive an obligation-free quotation.
The final value of a piece is determined by many factors, including the complexity of the design, materials, metal weight, gemstones, techniques used, and the time required to craft the piece. Together, we will ensure all elements are carefully considered.

Gemstone & Metal Selection
Astrid will guide you through the options to help you choose the right materials for your jewellery piece. Select from the finest 100% recycled precious metals, including platinum, 18ct yellow, rose, or white gold. Special finishes such as engraving, black rhodium plating, and hammered textures can be added.
With a stunning array of responsibly sourced Australian and vintage gemstones available. We can source rare and unusual stones to create your perfect piece. Including hand-collected and carved Australian opal, jade, chrysoprase, breathtaking south sea pearls, sparkling antique diamonds, sapphire, ruby, and emerald. The sky's the limit, and we can even incorporate different materials such as ebony or fossils into your design.
If you have any family heirlooms or broken jewellery that you would like to incorporate, we will go through the possibilities. Gold can be refined and re-used and often gemstones can be re-cut and polished to restore their brilliance. Transforming your sentimental treasures into sparkling new jewellery to wear and enjoy.
Precious metals and gemstones can be traded in to help offset the cost of your jewellery commission.
Drawing on her expertise as a gemmologist and diamond grader, Astrid will educate you on the special properties of each gemstone, to help you make an informed and confident decision.

Artisan Craftsmanship
Each piece of jewellery is meticulously crafted by hand in Astrid's Melbourne studio, ensuring the highest quality and attention to detail. Astrid prefers using traditional jewellery manufacturing techniques. Hand fabricating metal as well as hand carving miniature sculptures into wax, which are then cast into precious metals using the ancient technique of lost wax casting.
Your jewellery will be an original work of art, made to be worn and stand the test of time.
The final design will determine the timeframe required to make your bespoke jewellery commission. For simple jewellery pieces, please allow 6-8 weeks from commencement. More complex designs, sets, or jewellery incorporating hand carved gemstones, may require significantly more time to complete.
The finished piece is presented in a beautiful, locally handmade, recycled timber jewellery box, accompanied by a travel pouch and polishing cloth. We will ensure the fit is perfect and make any final adjustments if required. Included, is a hand-painted gouache illustration of your custom-made jewellery, with a valuation for insurance.*
